Abstract:
Based on the book The keeping quilt by Patricia Polacco: When Patricia's Great-Gramma Anna came to America from Russia, the only things she brought along with her were her dress and a babushka. Anna outgrew the dress and her mother decided to incorporate it and the babushka into a quilt. This quilt ties together the lives of four generations of an immigrant Jewish family and remains a symbol of their enduring faith and love.
Based on the book A birthday basket for Tía by Pat Mora: Cecilia and Chica put together a birthday basket containing a favorite book, a mixing bowl, a flowerpot, and other objects that represent activities the little girl and her great-aunt like to share.
Based on the book No dogs allowed by Sonia Manzano: Iris and her family have a big surprise when they arrive at Enchanted Lake and see a sign that says No Dogs Allowed!
Based on the book The squirrel sisters by Janet Stevens and Susan Stevens Crummel: Janet and Susan are sisters. Together they create wonderful books. See how this is done by saying hello to their friends, the Squirrel Sisters.
Based on the book Before you were mine by Maribeth Boelts: This story will show you how adopting a pet can bring happiness to the pet as well as the new owner.
Based on the book Buster by Denise Fleming: Buster was a very happy dog. He had everything he could want. Then one day his owner, Brown Shoes, brought home a big box. Inside the big box was something Buster did not want-- and that something was named Betty.
