Abstract:
The Continents Of The World Series covers all of the basics young learners need to understand the major landmasses that make up planet earth. We'll begin with a graphical depiction of Pangaea and how the continents came to be as we know them today. With a primary focus on the geography of the continents, each program proceeds into additional cross-disciplinary studies of science, nature and history. Through a combination of computer graphics and live action footage, each continent is built from the ground up, until it looks just as it is today.

Africa: Being situated on the equator drives much of Africa's geography.

Europe: When looking back from space, you can see that much of the continent of Europe consists of several peninsulas, a moderating factor.

Asia: The largest continent's vast territory accommodates extremes.

Australia: The only landmass on earth that is a continent, country and island. It's isolation leads to unique animals on land and under water.
